Track competes in Mayfield, host Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays on Friday

Leah Vincek won the 1600 meters at the Fast Times meet in Mayfield, setting a new meet record time of 5:40.36.

Marshall County’s track team competed in the Fast Times meet at Mayfield High School last Saturday. They will be in competition again on Friday when they host the Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays.

Kian Court placed first in two events, the 110 meter hurdles (16.45) and the 300 meter hurdles (42.97). Court’s 300 meter hurdle time broke the old meet record of 43.16.

For the girls’ team, Leah Vincek won the 1600 meter race (5:40.36) and set a new meet record. Katelyn Ringstaff took the win in the 800 meters (2:49.05) and Addison Lyles won the 3200 meter race (12:45.77) while setting a new meet record. Laney Evans won the pole vault event with a new meet record jump of 9-00.

Georgia Hall set a new meet record with her first place throw in discus (94-08). Teammates Bailey Allred placed second (90-0) and Chaney Fulton took third (86-01). All three throws broke the old meet record of 73-03. Allred took the win in shot put (31-11) which also set a new meet record. Chaney Fulton placed second (29-05) and Alyssa McClain third (29-03) – all passing the old record of 25-11.50.

Several more second place finishes came from Jett Sealock in the 400 meters, Ann Marie Peffer in the 300 meter hurdles, Mia McGregor in the 800 meters and Talon Smother in discus. The girls 4 x 200 relay team placed second with Georgia Hall, Laken Schroader, Gracie Gideon and Charleigh Duncan. Also taking second, the 4 x 100 team of Clara Boddy, Rylee Thompson, Laney Evans and Gracie Gideon.

Kian Court won both the 110 meter and 300 meter high hurdles in Mayfield and set a new meet record of 42.97 in the 300.
