CALVERT CITY – The annual Ameribration celebration is just a few weeks away, bringing food, family fun and one of the best fireworks shows to thousands who turn out for the event each year.
Included in the week’s festivities are a 5K race and fun run, beauty pageant and car show. This year’s 5k and fun run benefits the Calvert-Sharpe Family Resource Center and is scheduled for Saturday, June 27 (rain or shine) starting at the Calvert City Civic Center.
Online registration is available at www.active.com and the cost is $20 per person. Race day registration fees are $25 and the one mile youth run fee is $10. All participants pre-registering by Friday, June 19 will receive a moisture wicking shirt.
Registration/Packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m. and closes promptly at 7:40 a.m. The 5k race/walk race starts at 8 a.m. Registration for the one mile youth run closes at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9. Awards will be given out at 9:30 a.m.

The Ameribration Pageant is scheduled for Monday, June 29 at 6 p.m. at the Calvert City Civic Center. Age Divisions for girls are: 0-35 Months, 3-5 Years, 6-9 Years, 10-13 Years and 14-18 Years.
Age Division for Boys is: 0-35 Months
Winners in each age division receive a crown, trophy, and a $25 cash award. First and second runners-up in each age group will receive a trophy. Photogenic winners will also receive a trophy.
All winners are invited to ride in the Ameribration Parade on the 4th of July – each must provide their own transportation. The attire is summer sportswear for all ages and the entry fee is $35, $10 entry fee for photogenic (optional).
The Calvert Cool Rides annual 4th of July Car Show will be held at Doctor’s Park from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. as well. featuring numerous classes from stocks and modified to mustangs and motorcycles. For more information email gmeyer@adssecurity.com or call 270-217-9228.
