Sedlock leads Marshals in wins over Union County and Fulton City

Kole Sedlock led the Marshals in scoring in both wins this week over Union County and Fulton City by a combined 33 points.

Wins over Union County on Monday and Trigg County on Tuesday extends the current Marshall County win-steak to four games and they improve to 12-6.

Following a JV Marshals 47-45 win at Union County, the Marshals completed the double-header sweep with a 66-48 win. Three players in double-figures were led by Kole Sedlock with 19 points, Colby Schroader 18 and Cole Mills 12.

The Marshals built on an early 7-2 lead to go up by 10 at 21-11 at the end of the first quarter. Union County’s Kaleb Kanipe scored the first nine of their 11 points in the quarter.

Schroader opened the second quarter with his third 3-pointer to give the Marshals their largest lead of the half of 11 points. Up 10 points at 28-18, the Marshals were outscored by the Braves 10-4 and the lead was cut to four points at halftime.

Canipe and Eli Mackey combined to tie the game for Union County at 35-35 in the third quarter. That was followed by a 14-4 run by the Marshals to close out the third quarter up 49-39. The run was spread among five players – Sedlock with four points, Smith and Wall with three and Schroader and Mills with two each.

The Marshals continued to roll in the fourth quarter, out-scoring Union County 17-9 to pick up the 18-point win.

Tuesday on their home court against Fulton City, the Marshals were again led by Sedlock with 14 points in the 63-28 win. Sedlock was the only play to score in double figures but he was joined in the scoring column by nine other teammates.

Sedlock scored eight of the Marshals first quarter points in their 18-8 lead. All eight Fulton City points came from Camarae Cobb.

Schroader dropped in a couple of free throws to start the second quarter off a technical on Cobb and they put up six more points to finish out an 11-0 run on the way to a 27-21 halftime lead.

Seven different players put points on the board for the Marshals in their 24-point third quarter, led by Schroader with six and four each from Sedlock, Mills and Smith.

They finished out the fourth quarter out-scoring Fulton City 12-6, highlighted by two 3-pointer from Wall.

Before the Varsity game, the freshman Marshals beat Fulton City 58-18.

Friday, the Marshals and Lady Marshals will host Calloway County for Homecoming.
