Lady Marshals defeat Massac 48-30 in Thursday’s Hoopfest game

BENTON – The Lady Marshals took the court in the third game of Thursday’s opening night of Hoopfest 2015 against Massac County. In a low scoring first quarter, the Lady Marshals led 6-4 but put up 20 points in the second quarter, getting 3-pointers from Miyah Davis and two by Briley English, to lead the Lady Patriots 26-13 at halftime.

Marshall County out-scored Massac 22-17 in the second half for the 18-point win led in scoring by Briley English with 14 points and Hannah Langhi with a double-double 13 points and 10 rebounds. Mackenzie Cowgill led the Lady Patriots in scoring with 10 points.

The Lady Marshals will play again in the Hoopfest Saturday morning at 10:30 against Hopkins Central.
