PADUCAH, Ky. (Sept 16, 2019) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane and load width restriction on the KY 453 Canal Bridge near Grand Rivers on Thursday & Friday, September 19 7 20, 2019.
This work zone lane and 8 ft. load width restriction along KY 453/Dover Road near the Livingston-Lyon County Line south of Grand Rivers is to allow a detailed inspection of the Canal Bridge. The Canal Bridge connects KY 453 to The Trace and serves as the northern entrance to the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.
The 8 ft. load width restriction is required due to the use of an Under Bridge Inspection Vehicle (UBIV) to facilitate the inspection work.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow between about 7:30 a.m., CDT, and 3:30 p.m., each day. Appropriate caution is required.
About 1,850 vehicles travel this section of KY 453 in an average day.
