Traffic signal work to create restrictions this week
PADUCAH, Ky. (May 6, 2024) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to resume a northbound work zone lane restriction along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road in the Lone Oak area of McCracken County starting at 10 a.m., today.
This lane restriction for northbound traffic along U.S. 45/Lone Oak Road at mile point 7.141 at the new intersection with KY 1286/North Friendship Road and Lakeview Drive is to allow a sub-contractor to continue installation of a new traffic signal. The worksite is immediately in front of the Lone Oak Kentucky Fried Chicken location.
This northbound lane restriction is expected to be in place between 10 a.m., and 2 p.m., CDT, today. No southbound restrictions are expected today, but caution is required.
The crew anticipates a southbound lane restriction on Tuesday from 8 a.m., to about 2 p.m., CDT. Work may continue through the week as weather allows.
The existing traffic signal will continue to control traffic flow until the new signal becomes operational.
Motorists should use appropriate caution as the signal crew will be using bucket trucks to work in the intersection in close proximity to traffic flow.
The contractor and KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely updates as installation of the new signal progresses.
