Early Morning Collision Claims Life of Arkansas Man

On May 17, 2024 at approximately 6:00 a.m. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9700 block of Blandville Road regarding a motor vehicle collision involving two-vehicles, one of which had overturned.

The investigation revealed Luccas McMahon (33) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas was operating a 2007 Dodge Caravan, eastbound on Blandville Road.

Ricky Butterfield (59) of Kelso, Washington was operating a 2022 Ram 2500, westbound on Blandville Road.

The two vehicles collided head-on in the westbound lane of travel, which caused the 2022 Ram 2500 to overturn.  The rain and wet roadway conditions are believed to be a factor in this collision.

McMahon was pronounced deceased at the scene by the McCracken County Coroner’s Office.

Butterfield was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries.

We were assisted at the scene by Concord Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, McCracken County DES, McCracken County Coroner’s Office and Harper’s Towing.

Please keep the McMahon family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
