April is Homeschool Month at the Woodlands Nature Station

Calling all homeschool families! The Friends of Land Between the Lakes invites you to use the outdoors as your classroom this April at the Woodlands Nature Station. All month long, homeschoolers can pick up a Nature Discovery Activity Booklet and complete activities to earn a Nature Discovery patch! Friday, April 26th, 2024 is Homeschool Day, which will be jam-packed with hands-on STEAM activities about earth science!

All activities are included with Nature Station admission, which is $7 for ages 16 and up and FREE for ages 15 and under.

Homeschoolers can earn a Nature Discovery patch by completing a Homeschool Month packet at the Woodlands Nature Station during the month of April.
Pick up a “Nature Discovery Activity Book” at the Woodlands Nature Station front desk and use it to guide you through a variety of exploration activities that will help you learn about nature through all sorts of subjects! This year’s theme is “Fun and Games”! Books and activities are available at the Woodlands Nature Station daily from 10am-5pm.

If you complete your activity book and attend at least two programs at Nature Station during April, you can earn your official Nature Discovery patch and certificate! The booklets are geared toward homeschoolers ages 5-12.

Homeschool students can experience a fun and educational day of hands-on earth science activities at Homeschool Day on Friday, April 26th.
Discover the wonders of how our world works at Homeschool Day 2024! Explore ecology, climate, and the impacts we have on the environment through hands-on STEAM activities. These fun and educational activities will be led by naturalists and earth science experts from the National Weather Service, the Challenger Learning Center, and Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum.

All ages welcome. Reservations are not required and homeschoolers and their families can participate with general admission. It is recommended to plan at least two hours to maximize the experience of this event.
