The City of Benton reminds residents of fireworks ordinance

The use of fireworks according to the City of Benton ordinance, are not allowed until Saturday, July 4 –

(7) Fireworks can only be used within the city limits from the Saturday immediately preceding the 4th of July until the first Saturday following the 4th of July, and only between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. In the event the 4th of July falls on a Saturday, use of fireworks shall be permitted beginning on that day until the following Saturday during the times set forth herein.

(8) The Benton Fire Chief or Fire Marshall may revoke a permit for “Public Display of Fireworks” if any of the provisions of this section or state and federal regulations are not followed.

(9) Any person convicted of violating this section 93.27 shall be fined not less than $50.00 nor more than $1,000.oo, or confined in the county jail for not more than 30 days, or both. Each day a violation occurs shall constitute a separate offence.
