South Marshall Elementary School held a program today to honor our Veterans from all branches of the Military. The 4th and 5th grade students were led by their music teacher, Ms. Shelby O’Bryan, in an amazing Veterans Day Program. They opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by several patriotic songs and students talking about veterans and their sacrifices. The students also prepared a video of themselves talking about what a veteran means to them, which was very heart warming! These students worked very hard on their presentations and their performance today. There was a large crowd on hand as well as Veterans from most branches of the Military that were each honored with their respective medleys. The students concluded their program by singing ‘God Bless America’. After the program, Mrs. Harris, SMES Principal, invited all the Veterans to a reception in the cafeteria.
