Marshals tame Wildcats in 44-26 win

Back on their home court since the Dec. 10 game against Graves County was stopped in the closing seconds due to the tornado, the Marshals hosted Trigg County on Tuesday.  Friday, before the scheduled game at Graves County, the Dec. 10 game will be completed with 16.3 seconds on the clock with the Eagles up 46-45.

Taking charge early on Tuesday, the Marshals held Trigg County to nine first half points on their way to a 44-26 win while holding the Wildcats 23 points below their lowest point total of the season.

Kole Sedlock led with 12 points and scored the opening basket before Wade Moore knocked down the next six points, Cole Mills added two points and the first quarter was finished out a 3-pointer by Trey Wall to lead 13-2.

Four points from Sedlock and a 3-pointer by Mills made up the second quarter scoring for a 20-7 halftime lead.

Five Marshals combined for 14 third quarter points led by Quinn Smith with four, a 3-pointer each by Schroader and Wall and a bucket each by Mills and Sedlock to lead 34-19.

The fourth quarter was highlighted by Schroader’s second three and the first of only two free throw attempts of the game for the Marshals made by Moore with two minutes remaining in the 18-point victory.
