Margaret Frances Mary Elizabeth Lawson, 57, of Kevil, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Ray & Kay Hospice Care Center.

Margaret was born on October 2, 1963 at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. She was the youngest of career U.S. Army parents. She was a graduate of St. Mary High school and a member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church. Margaret was a vocal artist who had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She enjoyed the wonderful season of Christmas. She had many talents and was extremely intelligent. She was a great sister and friend. Margaret had a zest for life and all her friends were close to her heart. She had an exuberant soul that filled the hearts of all that met her and they in turn filled her heart with happiness, love and compassion. Her contagious laugh, big smile, optimism, love for all people, uniqueness and special sweet soul will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maggie, Maggie-May, Pameliska, Bobeschu, Tinkerbell were all endearing names that Margaret had been given throughout her life. Not only did she have names of endearment, her birth-given name had special meaning as well. Margaret means Pearl, Frances means Free, Mary mean Beloved and Elizabeth means Oath to God. Her life was filled with many wonderful memories especially ones of traveling extensively with her military parents and siblings seeing and visiting a multitude of sights during her childhood.

Margaret is survived by her siblings, James J. Lawson and wife, Sheila Ostrander, Mary A. Lawson Laws, Barbara J. Lawson Gibbs and husband, Guy, Michael G. Lawson and wife, Susan; uncles, Emil Mana, Jesse Lawson; nieces and nephews, Zachary, Jennifer, Kimberly, Shannon, Sunshine, James, Joseph, John, Kayla; extended family, Linda Shade, Victoria O’Neil along with many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was also survived by special friends, Jim and Margaret, Chad Wood, Lori and Tom, Carolyn and Tim, Lorraine and Bob, Fred and Lynda, Logan Barber, Randy Reeves, Noreen Neal Patton, Mary Ann Luken, Ike and Charlotte Erwin, along with many special friends that “Maggie” loved, cared about and cherished.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Phoebe Lawson, and her parents, SFC James E. Lawson and Frances Mary Mana Lawson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Special thanks to the wonderful medical team of doctors and nursing staff at Mercy Health- Lourdes Hospital Intensive Care Unit, 4th floor and Hospice unit who cared for her during her sudden illness. Expressions of Love can be given to the charity of your choice.
