Hubert Howell, 76 of Gilbertsville, KY died on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Oakview Nursing & Rehab Center in Calvert City, KY.
Born Saturday, May 20, 1944 in Grand Rivers, KY, he was the son of the late Wallace Howell and the late Ernestine (Flannery) Howell.
He was a heavy equipment operator by trade and owned Hubert R. Howell Custom Dozer & Backhoe Work. He had a love for horses and enjoyed training and riding them. He specialized in training Tennessee Walker and American Saddlebred horses. He was also a Deacon at Bethel Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Bradley Howell wife Sherri of Benton, KY; daughter, Jill Howell Coates husband Chad of O’Fallon, IL; brothers, Herbert Howell of Iuka, KY, Malcolm Howell of Benton, KY; sister, Juanita Rowland of Iuka, KY, Bobbi Harrell of Fairdealing, KY; and grandchildren, Colin Howell, Jocelyn Howell Dykes, Lila Coates, Lincoln Coates and Charlotte Coates.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Janice (Holland) Howell; his parents; brothers, Ernest Howell, Alvin Howell, Ike Howell; sisters, Rebecca Smith, Janice Brown; and grandson, Noah Coates.
A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Collier Funeral Chapel, located at 211 West 5th St., Benton, KY 42025 with the Rev. Charles LaChance officiating.
