UPDATE: Kentucky State Police Arrest Florida Man after Multi-County Pursuit

***UPDATE*** (May 8, 2024) – Jovon Moss has been apprehended. Moss has been charged with Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree and Stop/Stand/Park on Limited Access Highway. He has been lodged at the Crittenden County Jail.

GOLDEN POND, Ky. (May 8, 2024) – Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 troopers have arrested a Florida man after a multi-county pursuit.

KSP Post 1 received a report of a theft that had occurred in Lyon County at approximately 10:30am CT. At approximately 10:45am, a traffic stop was conducted with the suspect vehicle, a black Crysler Pacifica, at the 28 mile marker of I-24. One occupant got out of the vehicle and the other occupant fled from the traffic stop in the vehicle.

Troopers and officers pursued the vehicle through Marshall, McCracken and Trigg Counties on roadways including I-24, I-69, US-68, KY-80, and The Trace in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL). The vehicle was ultimately located in Colson Hollow Campground within LBL and the driver left the area on foot. With the assistance of multiple agencies, including a K9 from Stewart County TN Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was located in a wooded area south of the campground and taken into custody.

The suspect located in Colson Hollow has been identified as Jermal Davis, 27 years old of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Burglary Tools, Receiving Stolen Property, Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle, and numerous other traffic offenses. Davis has been lodged at the Crittenden County Jail.

The second occupant of the vehicle, identified as Jovon Moss, who left on foot from the 28 mile marker of I-24 is still at large. He was last seen in the Gilbertsville area of Marshall County. If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Jovon Moss, they are asked to contact KSP Post 1 by calling (270)856-3721. Residents in the Gilbertsville area are encouraged to ensure their vehicles and homes are locked.

The investigation into the theft is ongoing by Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. KSP would like to thank the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Calvert City Police Department, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, US Forest Service, Kentucky Park Rangers, and Stewart County TN Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.

GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. (May 8, 2024) – Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 troopers and officers from several other law enforcement agencies are currently in the area of Gilbertsville along the railroad tracks searching for a suspect who fled from law enforcement earlier today.

KSP Post 1 received a report of a theft that had occurred in Lyon County at approximately 10:30am CT. At approximately 10:45am, a traffic stop was conducted with the suspect vehicle at the 28 mile marker of I-24. One occupant got out of the vehicle and the other occupant fled from the traffic stop in the vehicle. The driver who fled the scene in the vehicle has been apprehended; however, the occupant who left on foot from the 28 mile marker of I-24 remains at large.

The suspect who remains at large has been identified as Jovon Moss, 34 years old of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes standing approximately 5′ 11″ tall. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and black jogging pants and carrying a black long-sleeve shirt. He was last seen along the railroad tracks between Lone Valley Road and Highway 282 in the Gilbertsville area of Marshall County.
