LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

 

 

 

  • On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, around 9:22am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot at a Kuttawa business. His investigation revealed a 2020 Ford F350, driven by Luke Grigg (20) of Kuttawa was entering the parking lot and was waiting to turn left when the operator did not see a 2019 Dodge Caravan driven by Michelle Weber (45) of Gilbertsville behind the semi. Grigg turned into the path of the Dodge resulting in a head-on collision. There were no injuries reported in the collision.

 

  • On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, around 12:35pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a two-vehicle collision on US 641 approximately 1.5 miles North of Eddyville. His investigation revealed a 2023 Case IH tractor with a folded disk in tow, driven by Tracy Patton (54) of Eddyville was South bound when it met a 2023 International semi-truck & trailer, driven by James Jordan (42) of Memphis, TN, which was North bound. The wide farm implement impacted the semi-truck & trailer causing damage to the semi-truck & trailer on the driver’s side. No injuries were reported and both vehicles remained drivable.

 

  • On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, around 3:27pm, deputies charged Lamarr D. Moye (33) of St. Louis, MO on a bench warrant from Lyon Circuit Court with Failure to Appear (for felony offenses). Moye was extradited from Missouri on this date. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, around 7:30am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a single vehicle accident at the Dryden Creek boat ramp. His investigation revealed a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, operated by Jason Jones (46) of Hopkinsville, was attempting to launch a boat at the ramp into Lake Barkley when Jones’ truck rolled into the water and became submerged. The Lyon County Water Rescue/Dive Team, US Army Corps of Engineers, and a local wrecker service assisted in the recovery of the vehicle at the scene. No injuries were reported in the accident.

 

  • On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, around 3:15pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a single vehicle collision on US 62 in Kuttawa. His investigation revealed a2013 Ford F150 was East on US 62 during a rain event. The vehicle encountered pooling water and the operator, identified as Matthew F. Travis (46) of Kuttawa, lost control before leaving the roadway and impacting an embankment. No injuries were reported in the collision.

 

  • On Friday, May 24, 2024, around 6:30pm, Deputy Josh Travis arrested Heather D. Thornton (45) of Eddyville on a Lyon District Court bench warrant for Failure to Appear in court on a DUI related case. She later posted bond and was released from custody.

 

  • On Friday, May 24, 2024, around 8:11am, deputies charged Deshawn Bolds (22) of Louisville with Contempt of Court on a Jefferson District Court bench warrant. Bolds was charged with Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more (by complicity) in that case.

 

  • On Friday, May 24, 2024, around 7:45pm, Deputy Michelle Kent responded to a single-vehicle collision on KY 274 approximately nine (9) miles South of Eddyville. Her investigation revealed a 2020 Toyota SUV was located in a ditch in the East side of KY 274 with the operator, Chanin M. Hiland (53) of Eddyville. Ms. Hiland stated she swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of her vehicle. Following a roadside investigation, she was arrested and charged with DUI-1st She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  • On Friday, May 24, 2024, around 10:44pm, Deputy Josh Travis conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 GMC Envoy on US 62 East, for a speeding violation. He identified the driver as Marcell J. Chanell (37) of Eddyville. Chanell was found to have a suspended operator’s license from the state of Indiana. He was charged with Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License.

 

  • On Saturday, May 25, 2024, around 11:30pm, Deputy Michelle Kent responded to a suspicious person complaint on KY 1271. The caller reported an intoxicated white male who was walking in the roadway. The male subject was eventually located and identified as Danny C. Day (53) of Kuttawa. He was confirmed to be intoxicated and was arrested for Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place-1st A vehicle was later found wrecked and abandoned on KY 810 near the intersection of KY 1271 which was connected to Day earlier in the evening. He was additionally charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Day was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
