Paducah Man Arrested After Fleeing Deputies In Stolen Truck

A deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office observed a 2001 GMC Sierra on the parking lot of Kroger (Park Avenue) The truck had previously been reported stolen to the Paducah Police Department.

When the deputy attempted to stop the truck, it quickly began to flee out of the parking lot, toward Park Avenue. During this time, the truck nearly struck another deputy head-on as he was pulling in the parking lot to assist.

The truck fled down Park Avenue and then onto H.C. Mathis Drive. The truck made an eastbound turn onto N. 14th Street. A deputy utilized a low-speed PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver on the truck, which quickly stopped it from fleeing any further.

The operator of the truck was identified as Justus White (20) of Paducah and was taken into custody.

Justus White was lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail on the below listed charges

Speeding 26 mph or > speed limit

Reckless driving

Fleeing or evading police, 1st degree (motor vehicle)

Wanton endangerment-1st degree-police officer

Criminal mischief, 1st degree

No operators-moped license

Disregarding traffic control device-traffic light

Receiving stolen property $1,000 < $10,000
