Harold Vied, 75

Harold Wayne Vied died on January 13th, 2021. The youngest child of Chester and Melville Vied, Harold was born on March 5th, 1945. When Harold was nine years old, Reverend Jewell Barrett held a revival service at the first Altona Baptist Church. The church was a small cinder-block building by the Tennessee River. Harold felt God’s call during the invitation and looked back at his mother who had already been looking at him. He stepped forward, and called on the name of the Lord. His mother immediately lifted up her voice in praise to God. The family circle was completed, as all the other children had made professions of faith. On Wednesday, he also completed the circle in heaven.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; Chester, and Melville Vied. Also preceded by all his siblings; Faylene Sample, Jimmie Doris Greer, Chester Vied Jr., Betty Phelps, Leroy Vied, Jerry Vied, Rachel Cardwell, and George Vied.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years; Vicki Vied, and his daughters; Tonya Dikin (wife of John Dikin), and Audrey Bugg (wife of Ricky Bugg). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Javon Davis (Zach), Tanner Dikin, Maxwell Dikin (Shelby), Enoch Dikin, Katelyn Bugg, and his great-grandchildren; Bethany Davis, and Charlotte Davis.

A public graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Wilson Cemetery (across from Zion’s Cause Baptist Church) for family and friends with Rev. C.C. Brasher and Bro. Tanner Dikin officiating.
