Saturday in Danville at the Old Bridge Golf Club, the Marshals finished fourth (296) in the Battle at the Bridge in a field of 18 teams. The team from Trinity (Louisville) won the event with 281. Jay Nimmo led the Marshall County scoring with a 3-under par 69 to finish fifth individually.

Following Nimmo, Camdyn McLeod finished shot 73 (+1), Trey Wall 74 (+3), Preston Futrell 80 (+8) and Hayden Powell 82 (+10).

“A really really good effort by our players today against most of the top players and teams in the state”, Coach Keith Bell said. “Jay birdied the last four holes, Camdyn and Trey had really solid rounds while Preston and Hayden each had that one bad hole but stayed focused after that and finished strong. A great team effort.”

The Marshals will play in the Bronco invitational at Greenbrier Country Club in Lexington on Monday.
