Wade Edward “Ed” Davis, 87

Wade Edward “Ed” Davis, 87 of Paducah passed away at 9:39 AM Monday, January 15, 2024, at his residence at Jackson Oaks.

Ed was the former owner/operator of Davis Transport in Paducah.   He was activated in the US Army reserve during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he was a graduate of Southern Methodist University and a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Paducah.  He was an avid golfer, University of Louisville Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan.  Mr. Ed loved going to Cass & Company where he was their mascot, and enjoyed his “tuna melt” & “cherry danish”.  His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed their activities or sports games.

He is survived by two daughters, Rita (Randy) Walton of Gilbertsville, KY, and Connie DeRezza of Paducah; five grandchildren, Jason (Christina) Lilly, Christina DeRezza, Lance DeRezza, RaeAnne Perry & Ryan Timmons; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Lilly, Emma Lilly, Conner Perry, Mailee Perry, Walker Perry & Landry Perry along with nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mai Allen Davis; his parents, Wade & Ruby Waldrop Davis; his sister, Carolyn Jody & son-in-law, Rocci DeRezza.
