On 07/23/2023, Joseph Kelley age 35 of Jonesboro IL, was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. It was reported that the McCracken Sheriff’s Office had been in pursuit of a motorcycle on I69 coming in to Marshall County and terminated the pursuit. A short time later, the motorcycle matching the previous description of observed in Benton. Benton officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the operator of the motorcycle fled from the Benton officer and was last observed on US 641 traveling toward Calloway County. Marshall Deputies canvassed the area and deputies located Kelley who was armed with a knife standing near a motorcycle on the parking lot of a business in Hardin. Kelley then got back on the motorcycle and fled deputies on Brewers Highway. Kelley reached speeds as high is 113 mph during the pursuit. Kelley lost control of the motorcycle and ran off the roadway into a yard of a residence and then into a corn field. Kelley then fled on foot. The motorcycle was determined to be stolen from out of Union County IL. Deputies were able to locate Kelley hiding in a wooded area and Kelley was taken into custody. Kelley was charged with the following charges:
Fleeing or evading police 1st degree, speeding 26 mph over limit, reckless driving, driving on DUI suspended license, wanton endangerment 1st degree, no motorcycle operator’s license, receiving stolen property$10,000 or more, criminal mischief 3rd degree, criminal trespassing, fleeing evading police on foot, criminal mischief 1st degree, destruction of vin number tampering with physical evidence and numerous traffic offenses. Kelley was also wanted out of IL from other crimes.
On 07/24/2023 Emma Nikulin, age 26 of Ozark MO, was cited for careless driving and speeding 102mph in a 70mph zone.
On 07/22/2023, Casie Fletcher age 33 of Calvert City KY, was arrested on two bench warrants issued out of Marshall Circuit Court for contempt of court. Original charges were for possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
On 07/22/2023, Austin Briggs age 25 of Dexter KY, was arrested following a traffic stop on a vehicle to which Briggs was a passenger. Briggs charged with Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Once taken into the jail, it was discovered that Briggs had hidden more drugs inside his person and was subsequently charged with promoting contraband 2nd degree.
On 07/23/2023, Kaylee Alatorre age 22 of Hickory KY was arrested following a traffic stop on US Hwy 68 W for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 1st degree (aggravating circumstances), speeding and possession of marijuana.
On 07/23/2023, Dwayne Wadsworth age 59 of Benton Ky, was arrested on 2 indictment warrants, both charges were for theft by failure to make required disposition. This case was presented to the Grand Jury by detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s office. During the investigation it was determined that at least two occasions that Wadsworth had taken payment on property and did not provide the property as was promised.
On 07/23/2023, Terry Blades age 29 of Gilbertsville KY, was arrested on a bench warrant issued out of McCracken Circuit Court for bond violation for contempt of court.
Jacob Estes, age 31 of Benton KY, was indicted by the grand jury in Marshall County on charges of vehicular homicide when under the influence of alcohol, wanton endangerment, operating motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, driving on dui suspended license and all-terrain vehicle violations.
Derek Gentry, age 28 of Benton KY, was indicted by the Marshall Grand Jury for the charge of intimidating a participant in the legal process.
Stacey Cornwell, age 49 of Benton KY, was indicted by the Marshall Grand Jury on charges of, 3 counts of theft by unlawful taking greater than $1,000 but less than $10,000 and criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd degree. The case was presented by Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s office. Investigation revealed that Cornwell had stolen money from multiple accounts belonging to an organization in Marshall County while she served as treasurer for this organization. Mrs. Cornwell was out on bond for another theft that was investigated by Kentucky State Police.
On 07/22/2023, Cathy Alexander age 66 of Benton KY, was arrested after being involved in a motor vehicle collision. Alexander was determined to be under the influence and was charged with Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, license to be in possession, failure to notify department of transportation of address change. When Alexander was transported to the hospital, she assaulted medical staff and was also charged with assault 3rd degree.
On 07/22/2023, Uvander Hunter age 34 of Paducah KY, was cited during a traffic stop for speeding and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license.

Just after 7:00 pm, Deputies responded to a hotel in Draffenville in reference to a disturbance. When Deputies arrived they located broken items in the lobby. As a result of their investigation, Douglas Binion, age 49, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.
Bryson Young, age 18, of Mayfield, KY was served an indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for the charge of Burglary 3rd.
James Lindsey, age 25, of Murray, KY was served an indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for 10 charges that include traffic offenses as well as Persistent Felony Offender II, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), Fleeing and Evading 1st (motor vehicle), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substances.
Robert Dodds, age 42, of Smithland, KY was served and indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for 7 charges that include traffic offenses as well as Persistent Felony Offender I, Assault 3rd (police or probation officer), Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st degree > or = 2 grams (methamphetamine), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Substances.
Donte Thompson, age 26, of Mayfield, KY was served and indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for Criminal Trespass 2nd, Giving Officer False Identifying Information, and Theft of Identity of Another without Consent.
Rebecca Jones, age 40, of Mayfield, KY was served an indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for Assault 4th (minor injury), Burglary 2nd, and Persistent Felony Offender II.
Thomas Downs, age 60, of Mayfield, KY was served an indictment warrant from Graves County Circuit Court for the charges of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd degree (codeine), Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree (drug unspecified).
07/19/2023 Detectives received information about a wanted subject staying at a local hotel in Calvert City. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office along with the Calvert City Police Department responded and located Christina Byrn, age 39, who was arrested on two bench warrants, one out of Daviess County District Court for Failure to Appear and the other out of Marshall County Circuit Court for Contempt of Court.
After being arrested Detectives located illegal narcotics in Byrn’s personal property. Christina Byrn was additionally charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree – 1st offense (methamphetamine)
