Lady Marshals win Marshall County Invitational to open 2023 season

The Lady Marshals golf team kicked off the 2023 season with a win in the Marshall County Invitational held at Calvert City Country Club on Tuesday. The ladies team score of 309 earned the win by 49 strokes over second place Daviess County with a score of 358.

Marshall County’s Trinity Beth took the individual title with the only under par round of the day at 2-under 70. Katie Roberts and Karra Tucker of Madisonville-North Hopkins finished tied for second with 74.

Following Beth’s 70 and Roberts with 74, Skylar Waller shot 80 (T6), Cecelia Ray carded an 85 (T14) and Brooklyn Cunningham shot 86 (T16).

Eight teams and 17 individuals not on teams competed along with seven middle schoolers who played nine holes. Individuals for Marshall County included Kelli Roberts (91) and Charlee Murphy (95).
