Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles even record to 6-6

In the last three games combined, Christian Fellowship’s Gracie Howard has gone 5-for-7 at the plate with two double and four RBIs.

Following Monday’s loss to Marshall County, the Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles won their next three games. In a double-header at Fulton City, the Lady Eagles won 24-0 and 20-0, both games over in three innings. Thursday, they picked up their sixth win of the season 11-8 over McLean County.

In the first game of the double-header against Fulton City, Jayden Jackson had eight strike outs in the 3-inning no-hitter. Jackson was also one of two Lady Eagles that went 3-for-3 at the plate. She hit a double and a home run and drove in five runs. Rhema Howard was also 3-for-3 with a double and triple and credited with six RBIs.

In the second game of the double-header, the Lady Eagles were led at the plate in the 20-0 win by Jackson who was 3-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs. Lily Burnett and Maddie Siebert also hit home runs and doubles were hit by Elizabeth Dunning, Gracie Howard and Rhema Howard.

Jackson earned the 1-hit win while striking out four batters.

Jayden Jackson has led CFS to a 3-game win streak while also excelling at the plate. In the last three games combined, the senior was 9-for-10 at the plate with a double, three home runs and 12 RBIs.

The Lady Eagles beat McLean County 11-8 on Thursday. They were led in their 13 hits by Jackson who was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, Kyndal Owen who was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs and Renee Shields who was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI.

Jackson pitched the complete game win, allowing eight hits, four earned of eight runs while striking out six batters.

After a scoreless first inning, CFS scored runs in each of the next five innings they came to plate. Their big 5-run second inning began on a bases loaded single by Madie Siebert that scored a run. Two runs scored on errors and two more on a single by Jackson.

McLean County cut the Lady Eagles 10-2 lead down to four with four runs in the top of the sixth inning to trail 11-6 after CFS added another run in the bottom of the inning. They cut the Lady Eagles lead down to three with two more runs in the top of the seventh.

The Lady Eagles game Friday at Fort Campbell was canceled due to weather. Their next game will be at home on Monday against Murray at 5:30.
