Mr. Donald Lee Story, 84, of Murray passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Story was born on July 19, 1935 in Pittsburg, Kansas to the late Lemuel R. and Mary Vaughn Story. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired as a Music Professor from Murray State University. Mr. Story was a generous volunteer and donor with Need Line of Murray. He loved jazz music and building model airplanes. He was a former musician with both Nashville and Wichita Symphonies.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Marie Story.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Rutledge Story of Murray; three sons, Eric Story, wife Julie of Melbourne, FL, David Story, wife Mary of Dallas, TX, Doug Story, wife Kim of Birmingham, AL; a brother, Marvin Story; a sister, Margaret Ann McCabe, husband Fred of Hutchinson, KS; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will be a private family gathering at Need Line at a later date.
