Lady Marshals beat Tilghman 71-37

Winning their third straight game to improve to 10-6, Marshall County beat Paducah Tilghman 71-37 in Tuesday’s home game. Led by Cayson Conner with 16 points, three players joined Conner in double-figures including Jada Driver and Halle Langhi both with 13 points and Presley Jezik added 12.

After falling behind 4-0 to start the game, a basket by Driver and a 3-pointer from Jezik put the Lady Marshals up 5-4. A basket by Eleese Anderson put Tilghman back up by one and at bucket by Layne Pea at 3:45 in the quarter put the Lady Marshals up 7-6 and they never trailed again the remainder of the game.

An 18-10 lead going into the second quarter stretched out to 40-18 at halftime, the Lady Marshals 22 points in the quarter spread around by Conner and Langhi with six a piece, four by Jezik and a basket each from Driver, Jordyn Reed and Georgia Hall.

The Lady Marshals out-scored the Lady Tornados 21-11 in the third quarter. Driver dropped in seven followed by Conner with five, Langhi added four, Jezik three and Hannah Riley with two points to lead 61-29. Diamond Gray scored five of Tilghman’s 11 points in the quarter.

A three from Riley in the fourth quarter matched their largest lead of the game at 71-34 before Tilghman finished out the scoring on free throws from Synia Shaw Laster and Kiarri Jackson.

Two big tests are up next with a home game against Graves County (12-2) on Friday and Saturday at 2:30 they will tip-off against the #2 ranked Simon Kenton Lady Pioneers (17-2).
