Sidney Holloway, 92

Sidney Holloway, 92, of Hopkinsville, passed away Saturday January 4, 2020, at his home. Sidney was born December 29, 1927, in Lyon County, KY. He retired from ATT after 37 years, beginning as a lineman for the Bell South central office. Sidney was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a graduate of Coyne Technical College in Chicago, Illinois, and had been the past president of the Telephone Pioneers. Sidney served in the U.S. Army during the WWII era.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Irene Goodwin Holloway; daughter, Becky Holloway of Hopkinsville; sons, Louis Holloway and wife, Pam of Columbia, TN, Johnny Holloway and wife, Lori of Princeton and Dale Holloway and wife, Greta of Paducah; brother, William Holloway of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Chad, Kyle, Justin and Jacob Holloway and Maranda Bastian; 5 great grandchildren, Tyler, Zack, D.J. Holloway and Penelope and Elliot Bastian; 4 great great grandchildren, Stormie, Riley and Koda Holloway and Eli Manson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bertie Parrent Holloway; sisters, Maybelle Gray, Mary Patterson and Avanell Holloway, and brothers Jerry, Cash, and Roy Holloway.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Morgan’s Funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Morgan’s Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Giltner officiating. Burial will follow in the Princeton Memorial Gardens with military rites to be held.
