Doris J. Johnston, age 88 of Calvert City, KY died on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
She was retired from Florsheim Shoe Company in Paducah, KY.
Born Friday, October 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Guy Salyer and the late Loa (Phillips) Salyer. She was retired from Florsheim Shoe Company in Paducah, KY.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Marvin Louis Johnston of Calvert City, KY, daughters, Linda Rose of Benton, KY, Kathy Farmer of Benton, KY and Brenda Rose of Lewisport, KY; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 grandson, Brent Rose.
A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Collier Funeral Chapel located at 211 West 5th St. Benton, KY 42025 with Rev. Brad White officiating.
Interment will follow in the Salyer Creek Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016 at Collier Funeral Home.
