On Thursday, December 31 at 6:10 am, Captain Brett Edwards and Deputy Nathan Maxlow of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle collision.
Upon arrival, they found evidence that indicated the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway during a left-hand curve and struck a culvert, causing it to go airborne.
The vehicle then struck an oak tree causing severe damage to the vehicle.
Deputy Coroner Curtis Curtner pronounced 45-year-old Anthony McCoy of Sedalia dead at the scene.
