Christian Fellowship golf finishes season at 1st Region Tournament

MURRAY – Christian Fellowship finished their golf season Monday and Tuesday at the boy’s and girl’s 1st Region tournaments. Struggling to put together four boys at times for matches, and with just two girls on the team, the CFS players continued to improve throughout the season having what CFS Head Coach Billy Hodge said was maybe their best match of the season in the KCAC Tournament on September 26th.

The KCAC Tournament was played at Eagle Creek Country Club in Dry Ridge, Ky., and in cold, windy conditions, the Eagle squad pulled out 2nd place with a team score of 397. Heritage Academy was tournament champion with 321, Evangel Christian was 3rd with 399 and Calvery Christian in 4th with a score of 490.

Gavin Cypret led with 87 which was 6th place overall in the tournament. Maddie Ortt shot 94 for 9th place overall, Amber Shelley carded 107 good for 11th place and Elijah Toth with 109 and 13th place.

In the boy’s 1st Region Tournament at Calvert City Monday, Cypret shot 96, Toth 98 and Jordan Vaughn posted 116. Ortt and Shelley played Tuesday in the girl’s 1st Region Tournament at the Oaks Country Club in Murray. Ortt posted a score of 96 and Shelley shot 107.
