Kobey Yates, who will be in 6th Grade at North Marshall Middle School in the Fall, competed at the Kentucky State Elementary Track & Field Meet just before the end of his last week at Sharpe Elementary School with some incredible results! He finished 5th in the 1600 meter with a personal record of 5:31! He also competed in the 800 meter and placed 4th in that event. Top 5 in the state is a huge accomplishment, and bringing home a new personal record to top it off is even better.
If you see this young man out this summer, please be sure to congratulate him on these accomplishments! I’m sure we will be seeing lots of great things from him in the future and many more personal records and maybe even some state records!
