Murray hands Lady Marshals a loss on Senior Night

DRAFFENVILLE – Murray jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning on an error and never trailed on their way to a 5-3 win over the Lady Marshals which split the two district meetings between the teams. The Lady Marshals beat Murray 17-4 early in the season.

A sacrifice hit by Savannah Grogan gave the Lady Tigers another run in the 4th before the Lady Marshals got on the board in the inning on an RBI single by Briley English.

Murray added to their lead in the 5th with a single by Caitlin Mollette that scored Morghen Turley. Lexee Miller scored in the 5th on a fly ball out by Kenslie Cross that Murray answered in the 6th, scoring on an error to take a 5-2 lead.

In the Lady Marshals final at-bat, Miller led off with a double, then scored on a ground out by Abby Fiessinger. Addie Young doubled in the 2nd and 4th innings but Murray’s Bayleigh Blane was able to get the Lady Tigers out of those innings leaving runners stranded.

The win moves the Lady Tigers to 15-9 while the Lady Marshals dropped to 15-10.
