Abby Fiessinger selected as Region 1 Player of the Year

DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County’s Abby Fiessinger has been named the Region 1 Player of the Year for 2015. Fiessinger was 44-85 at the plate hitting 23 singles, 13 doubles, 4 triples and 4 home runs, two of which were grand slams, for a batting average of .518 and slugging percentage of .906. She had 35 RBIs on the season and scored 31 runs.

Fiessinger, along with Chaney Stearns, were named to the East-West All-Star roster with games taking place on June 13th at Ballard High School in Louisville. The East-West All Star rosters are divided into two teams, the East-West Juniors and East-West Seniors.

Also making the West All-Star team from Region 1 are four McCracken County players, Audrey Dodd, Bailey Vick, Hannah Ridolfi and Kelsie Henson.

McCracken County’s Tony Hayden was named Region 1 Coach of the Year. His Lady Mustangs won the KHSAA Softball State Championship Saturday 2-1 over Male.
