Kentucky Transportation Cabinet • District 1

Section between 0 and 1mm in Hickman County awaiting repairs

PADUCAH, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2024)  The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has closed a section of KY 239 immediately north of the Hickman-Fulton County Line.  This is along KY 239 between Clinton and Cayce.

KY 239 is closed between the 0 and 1 mile marker in southern Hickman County where the pavement deteriorated following the recent round of freezing and thawing.  Rough pavement signs were placed at the site a week ago to alert drivers until the asphalt pavement could be replaced with concrete.  However, water has continued to infiltrate under the roadway causing additional deterioration of the asphalt pavement.

KYTC engineers have closed this section of KY 239 until further notice while efforts to expedite repairs continue.  Due to the severity of the pavement damage, repairs could take several weeks to complete.

There will be a marked detour via U.S. 51 and KY 94.

KYTC District 1 will attempt to provide timely updates.
