Lady Marshals improve to 16-5 with wins over Allen County-Scottsville and Greenwood

Skylar Waller scored a combined 44 points in the Lady Marshals two wins this past week over Allen County-Scottsville and Greenwood.

The Lady Marshals picked up two wins over the past week against Allen County-Scottsville (59-53) last Saturday and yesterday against Greenwood (64-39). The Lady Marshals improve to 16-5 and are enjoying a six-game win streak.

Against Allen County-Scottsville, the game was tied up at 16 at the end of the first quarter and the Lady Marshals trailed 28-26 at halftime. They outscored the Lady Patriots by six in the third quarter and two in the fourth to win by six at 59-53.

Skylar Waller led the scoring with 19 points and was a perfect 7-of-7 at the free throw line. Waller currently ranks 14th in the state among free throw leaders at 83.7 percent. Kenzlee Terry was also in double figures with 11.

Saturday in Bowling Green, the Lady Marshals beat Greenwood 64-39 behind 25 points by Skylar Waller. Waller hit seven three pointers in the game, six of those in the first half which fueled an 18-point lead at halftime.

The Lady Marshals jumped out to a 23-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 37-19 at halftime on their way to the 25-point win.

Rylan Darnall and Kenzlee Terry each finished with 11 points. Darnall hit three and Terry made one of the 11 three pointers in the game.

This week they will play Murray at home on Tuesday and travel to Calloway County on Friday with a goal of remaining unbeaten in district games and claim the top seed in the 4th District Tournament.
