Dean Morris, 91, of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Mt. Sinai Medical Center of Florida in Miami, Florida.

Dean was born in Graves County, Kentucky on May 29, 1932 to the late Henry Morris and Myrtle Emerson Morris. He was a graduate of Sedalia High School and later went on to attend college at Murray State University. Dean worked as a chemist for Westlake Chemical Corporation, formerly BF Goodrich, for more than forty years before retiring. He was an avid reader and outdoorsman who loved to travel all over the world exploring new places. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was deeply loved by all. His family will always remember the importance he instilled in them to remain curious and to continue learning.

Dean is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sofia Morris of Nashville, Tennessee; three daughters, Susan Gentry of Paducah, Kentucky, Rene Ellis (Joe) of Benton, Kentucky, and Cindy Wyatt (Mike) of Paducah, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Nathan Taylor (Jenny), Brooke Clanton (William), Mariah Peel (Robert), Dr. Hannah Ellis, Sarah Ellerbusch (Reese), Mark Wyatt (Leslie), Brian Wyatt (Marlena), and Heather Wyatt; sixteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Guess Morris; one grandson, Jeremy Taylor; one brother, J.B. Dobson; and his parents, Henry Morris and Myrtle Emerson Morris.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky 42025.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January, 12, 2024 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky 42025. Burial will follow at Benton Cemetery.
