Brent Cope, age 45 of Benton, KY, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at his home.
Brent was born at Murray-Calloway County Hospital on July 31, 1978 to Larry D. Cope and Bonnie Darnell Cope. He was a 1996 graduate of Marshall County High School. He graduated with honors from Sullivan University in Louisville with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for Charter/Spectrum in the Louisville office for 20 years and most recently for Metronet in Paducah. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.
Over the years, Brent participated in 33 marathons across the US. He will be remembered most of all by family, friends, and coworkers for his photographic memory. He never forgot anything.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Brian Cope (Teresa) of Benton and nephew, Maddox Cope of Benton.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Glen H. Cope and J.D. Darnell; grandmothers, Hazel Cope, Patsy Darnell, and Louise Collie; and nephew, Preston Cope.
The family would like to thank Mercy Health Hospice for their kindness and care of Brent.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated with no services. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
