On Nov 3, 2023 at approximately 01:30am in Saratoga North sub-division an off-duty detective with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and his wife were alerted by their security cameras that someone was on their property. The cameras showed three males attempting to make entry into their locked vehicles in the driveway. The suspects drove away at a high rate of speed as the detective was going outside. Even though the suspects had their headlights off, he was able to locate them a short distance away. What appeared to be one of the same suspects was running towards the suspect vehicle with a flashlight. Another deputy arrived and a traffic stop was conducted. It is suspected that these individuals took property and firearms out of at least five vehicles in that area before they were stopped. The firearms did not belong to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office or the off-duty detective. They were lodged at the Calloway County Detention Facility on the below listed charges and are being held on a $20,000 bond.

We have several reports today from residents stating they have received a call from a person claiming to be with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office and informing the resident that there is a warrant or criminal summons for their arrest. These calls are a scam attempt through the threat of legal action and should be ignored.
Sheriff Knight would like to remind everyone that The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office serves all court/legal documents in person and will NEVER ask you to pay any sort of fee over the phone.
