Daniel Elwood “Bear” Higgins, 75 of Benton, KY passed away peacefully on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN with family and friends by his side.
Born Wednesday, April 10, 1946 in Murray, KY, he was the son of the late Daniel Needmore Higgins and the late Erlene (Colson) Higgins. On June 18, 1965 Bear married the love of his life, Pattie Thompson of Hardin. Bear was a truck driver for many years and was an employee of Fisher Price/Mattel of Murray. He was a member of Hardin Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Pattie, Bear is also survived by his son, Steve Higgins wife Melissa of Benton, KY; two grandchildren, whom he deeply adored, Brianna Higgins and Madisyn Higgins both of Benton, KY. He will also be greatly missed by his two little yorkies, Augie and Scooter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Andrew Wayne Higgins and Kerry Wilson Higgins.
A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Hardin Church of Christ with the David Smith and Elijah Balentine officiating.
Interment will follow in Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Hardin Church of Christ.
