Dr. Steve Miracle of Shelbyville, Ky. named Marshall County Superintendent

Dr. Steve Miracle, Principal of Bullitt Central High School, was introduced on Tuesday at Marshall County High School as the new Superintendent, taking the position that Trent Lovett has held for the past 13 years.

The Marshall County School Board approved the hiring of Dr. Steve Miracle as the new Marshall County Schools Superintendent at Marshall County High School on Tuesday evening.

After graduating from Henry County High School, Dr. Miracle enlisted in the United States Navy. After his years in the Navy, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Education at Kentucky State University and a Masters and Rank Two in Education Administration from the University of Louisville. He earned his Doctorate from the University of Louisville in March of 2021.

Dr. Miracle has served in many roles throughout his 22 years in education. He taught at an alternative school, a middle school, served as a middle assistant principal, a middle school principal, a high school principal and a superintendent. He was a finalist for the Kentucky Superintendent of the Year in 2019 and was responsible for establishing a graduate profile in Trimble County. He is the current principal of Bullitt Central High School.

“I’m extremely excited and ecstatic about being given the opportunity and the honor and privilege to be in this position for your community and for your school system”, Dr. Miracle said.

Dr. Miracle said it is so exciting to drive around the area and see all the support and colors displayed for the school system around the community.

“As I began to tell the people in Bullitt County that I work for there, I’m being screened and interviewed in Marshall County, the response has been ‘that’s an awesome place’ and ‘that’s a wonderful school district and a wonderful community’ so that’s known far beyond this community”, Dr. Miracle said.

Dr. Miracle said his overall vision is to see Marshall County be the best school district in Kentucky adding, “You are already one of the best in Kentucky”.

He and his wife Cathy live in Shelbyville, Ky. They have a daughter Jenna, 25, who is a University of Kentucky graduate and lives and works in Lexington and son Zachery, 18, a 2021 graduate of Shelby County High School.
