McCarty 6th, Jezik 14th at Fast Cats Classic

Marshall County cross country teams competed in Saturday’s Fast Cats Classic in Owensboro, held at the Yellow Creek Park. Split into “Red” and “White” races, a total of 180 boys and 144 girls competed.

Led by Ethan McCarty’s sixth place finish in the “Red” race and sixth overall, the Marshals as a team placed eighth among 24 teams. Hopkinsville’s Chase Adkins took first in 15:36.96 and the team from Daviess County took team honors.

Presley Jezik led the way for the girls, placing 14th in the “Red” race and 14th overall. McCracken County’s Maggie Aydt, who recently committed to the University of Kentucky, crossed in first with a time of 19:12.39. Daviess County completed the sweep with a team win for the girls. Marshall County did not have enough competitors to score as a team.
