Mr. Richard Neal Williams, age 73, of Mayfield passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.
He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church and a member of the Millwright Union #1076 out of Paducah, KY. As a pastime, for years, Richard worked on racing go kart engines and little dragster engines. He loved talking on the CB radio. His handle was “Pops”.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rebecca Bushart Williams; two daughters, Kim (Brian) Coltharp and Mendi (Damion) Caldwell both of Sedalia, KY; one brother, Jerry Lynn Williams of Murray, KY; one sister, Loretta (Scotty) Young of Mayfield, KY; six grandchildren, Corey Coltharp, Elizabeth (Clint) McClure, Tyler (Michelle) Foy, Paighton (Tyler) Goin, Brandon (Kaylie) Barber and Addie Caldwell; and six great grandchildren, Alice McClure, Lynnley Goin, Izzy Foy, Haven Lee, Kylir Foy and Christina Foy.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristie Lynn Wiggins; three brothers, Ray Allen Williams, Scottie Williams and Joe Ed Williams; and his parents, Cleburn and Laurene Griffith Williams.
Funeral services for Mr. Richard Neal Williams will be 12 noon on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. David Gossum and Rev. Marcus McClure will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Caldwell, Brandon Barber, Tyler Foy, Clint McClure, Corey Coltharp and Tyler Goin.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
