Mr. Carl “Peanut” O’Daniel, age 90 of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at his home.
“Peanut” was born Monday, July 23, 1928 in Gilbertsville, KY, he was the son of the late Louis and Beulah (Allen) O’Daniel.
He graduated grade school at Gilbertsville, high school from Benton, and college from Murray State University. He spent 2 years in the US Navy and 4 years in the Naval Reserves. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Pennwalt Corporation for 37 years. He married Joanne Smith on August 1, 1953.
He is survived by his wife Joanne, son Matt, wife Mary Sue, daughter, Jenny Johnston, husband Steve, daughter, Laura Dick, husband Tony, sister, Jo Ann O’Daniel, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th Street, Benton, KY 42025 on Saturday, January 12, 2019, Johnny Phillips and Bro. Alan Miller officiating.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Collier Funeral Home.
