‘Moonshiners’ star to visit South Marshall Fire Department

Residents and fans of the Discovery channel show, “Moonshiners” will have the opportunity to meet star Tim Smith this weekend in Aurora.

The South Marshall Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 will host Smith for a pancake breakfast and autograph signing opportunity at the department. Breakfast is $7 for adults, $3 for children aged 6-12 and those younger than 5 are free.

Smith, once a fire chief himself and a volunteer firefighter in Climax, Va., was featured on “Moonshiners,” a program that highlighted the history, heritage and tradition behind the moonshine trade. Smith’s own brand, Climax Moonshine, is distributed in stores throughout the U.S. He is a third-generation moonshiner. For more information, visit his site online here.
