Lady Eagles 6-5 following three wins last week

Maddie Ortt on the mound for Christian Fellowship, has helped lead the Lady Eagles to a 6-5 record.

The Christian Fellowship Lady Eagles have improved to 6-5 since their break from competition over Spring Break. Since then, they have gone 3-2 with wins over Fulton City two over Fulton County, a hard fought 17-15 loss to Dawson Springs and they fell 15-0 to Ballard Memorial in the All ‘A’ Classic.

In the Lady Eagles last four games, Abbie Fletcher was 5/8 at the plate with a double and seven RBI’s.

In the April 11th All ‘A’ Classic game against the Lady Bombers, Ballard scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back, scoring runs in the next four innings for a 15-0 win on 16 hits in five innings. The Lady Eagles only hit in the game came from Rachel Howard while Ballard was led by sophomore Anessa Green who hit the cycle going 4/4 with a single, double, triple and home run. The win went to Shelby Hawes and the Lady Bombers went on to lose to Carlisle County 3-1 in the All ‘A’ Championship.


They followed up the loss to Ballard with a 12-2 win over Fulton County on 10 hits. Leading 3-2 after four innings, the Lady Eagles put the game away with a 9-run fifth inning on two RBI singles by Jaycie Jackson and Caitlyn Ivy, a bases loaded walk from Rachel Howard, another 2-run single by Zailey McClain followed by Jackson’s second 2-run single to close the game out.

A 6-run second inning gave the Lady Eagles a big early lead over Fulton City on Friday, behind a wild pitch, two walks and two runs scored on a ground out by Fletcher. Two more runs in the fourth gave them an 8-1 lead at the end of the inning but they added seven more in the fifth for the 15-2 win. Cima led in hitting going 2/2 at the plate with a double and three RBI’s. Ortt got the win in five innings, allowing six hits and two runs.

In their first of two games on Saturday, an offensive battle ensued with a combined 32 runs and 37 hits in Dawson Springs 17-15 win over Christian Fellowship. Down 17-12, the Lady Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but came up short. Cima, Ivy, Fletcher and Ortt all had three hits in the game. Cima and Ivy each had a double and Fletcher had four RBI’s.

Against Fulton County in their second game on Saturday, CFS scored 12 of their 17 runs in the fifth inning in their 17-2 win after leading 5-2 at the end of the fourth, scoring on a double by Ivy, single by Fletcher, single by Ortt, double by Kendall, a single by Ivy and walks and errors. Ivy was 2/3 at the plate with a double and four RBI’s, Kendall 1/2 with a double and four RBIs.
