Lady Marshals, Marshals open season with shut-outs

DRAFFENVILLE – Marshall County girl’s and boy’s soccer teams opened their seasons Tuesday evening, both getting shut-out wins. The Lady Marshals won 10-0 in one half of play over St. Mary and the Marshals defeated Paducah Tilghman 6-0.

At Colburn Stadium, the Lady Marshals connected on 18 shots, 16 of which were on goal with 5 corners. Goals came from Kylee Crass with the first 2 of the game, Camryn Crass had 3 goals, one assisted by Carmen Jackson, Kayla Travis had 4 with 2 of those assisted by Camryn Crass and Lindy King with 1 goal assisted by Carmen Gunn.

The Lady Marshals play next on Monday at home against Mayfield, their first of three district games next week.

The Marshals season began at Jetton Field in Paducah, picking up their 6-0 win on 26 shots, 8 on goal and 2 saves by keeper Keagan Watkins. Dawson Jolley had the hat trick with 3 goals, Caleb McNeely had 2 and Jacob Cramer with 1.

They will play at Murray Thursday, the first of four straight district games.
