After a relatively dry June, the first eight days of July have turned in some staggering rainfall amounts for portions of western Kentucky.
Four- to eight-inch cumulative totals have been common across the quad-state region. A corridor from southeastern Illinois through the lakes area of Kentucky saw ten and even more than fifteen inches so far in July. Some of the biggest numbers included:
Kenlake Resort 15.47 inches
Benton 13.91
Calvert City 12.91
Cadiz 12.38
Hopkinsville 11.54
Marion 10.97
For comparison, Paducah’s average precipitation during the entire month of July is just over four inches.
