(CALVERT CITY, Ky.) — Marshall Yards marked its grand opening Wednesday with more than just a ribbon cutting — the new racing and gaming facility also presented a $10,000 donation to Marshall County Caring Needline during the celebration.
Dave McDade, Assistant General Manager of Marshall Yards, spoke to the significance of the contribution during the ceremony. “We are incredibly thankful to be part of this wonderful community,” McDade said. “Churchill Downs and Marshall Yards are committed to serving Marshall County and the surrounding area, and Marshall County Caring Needline is a vital resource for so many residents. We are honored to present this gift today.”
Hollie Darnall, Director of Marshall County Caring Needline, said the gesture came as a welcome surprise. “Mr. McDade reached out to us early on with news of Marshall Yards’ intentions, and we were simply overjoyed,” Darnall said. “On behalf of our entire board, we extend our deepest gratitude to Marshall Yards and Churchill Downs for this generous donation. It will make a real difference in the lives of many local residents.”
Marshall Yards, which is affiliated with Churchill Downs Incorporated, is the newest entertainment destination in Calvert City, Kentucky.
