(MURRAY, Ky.) — A New Covenant Christian Academy junior has become the first student from her school to earn a spot in one of the region’s most competitive academic programs.
Hadley Howell Davis, a junior from Benton, was selected from a pool of 283 applicants nationwide to participate in Murray State University’s 2026 Commonwealth Honors Academy — a prestigious three-week academic enrichment program held each June on the university’s main campus.
Davis, the daughter of Ron and Heather Davis, serves as varsity cheer captain and student ambassador at NCCA. Her selection marks a milestone for the school, which has never before had a student accepted into the program.
“We praise God for this incredible achievement and are so proud of her dedication, perseverance, and the way she has used her God-given gifts to attain this honor,” said NCCA Head of School Rachel Kelly. “May this be just one of many blessings in her journey ahead.”
The Commonwealth Honors Academy offers scholars the opportunity to complete two honors-level college courses taught by university faculty, participate in personal development seminars, and engage in social activities designed to provide a firsthand college experience. Upon completion, graduates receive a four-year, in-state tuition scholarship to Murray State and three transferable college credit hours.
Selection is based on a range of criteria, including academic performance, leadership, character, writing ability, extracurricular involvement, and overall potential.
For Davis, the opportunity represents both a personal achievement and a chance for growth.
“At CHA, I am looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things,” she said. “I am so grateful to have had such encouraging teachers and a supportive family who have helped me achieve this honor.”
New Covenant Christian Academy enrolls nearly 200 students in preschool through high school and provides a Christ-centered, biblically-based education. The school is located at 218 College St. in Hardin. More information is available at nccaky.org.
