Julie Marie McElwayne, 63

Julie Marie McElwayne, age 63 of Symsonia died May 20, 2024 at her sons residence.  She was born the daughter of Roy B. Smith and the late Delois Christian Smith.  Julie was of the Christian faith and loved spending time with her grandchildren, her husband, and her family.  She loved time spent camping and fishing when the opportunity presented itself.  She was talented in cosmetology and enjoyed all things “hair and make up”.  She was always looking to find a great bargain at the Dollar General or Dollar Tree.  She was loved by her favorite fur baby: Jack.

Funeral services will held Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Lawrence. Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery in Paducah.  Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband: Kevin McElwayne of Symsonia; her sons: Jason Hicks (Teresa Williams) of Paducah, and Justin Hicks (Kristy) off Paducah; her brother: Roy Vernon Smith (Karen) of Paducah; her grandchildren: Jade Cunningham, Leah Hicks, Anna Hillegas, Kasey Hicks, Justin Hicks Jr., Wiley Norton, and Ruby Norton; her three great grandchild (and one on the way); her step-sons: Samuel McElwayne of Graves County, and Matthew McElwayne of Calvert City; and her step-daughter: Elizabeth McElwayne of Benton.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother: Marvin “Bones” Reynolds; and her granddaughter: Natalie Hicks.
