Master Gardener Barbara Ray joined us on WCBL’s Coffee Call program

Master Gardener Barbara Ray joined us on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. She says
home gardening with people growing their own food is really peaking. And Ray says
even if you live on a small lot you can still enjoy growing your own vegetables. She
says when choosing what to plant, look for seed packages with the term “heirloom”,
which means the seed has been around for several years and has a proven track record.
And she says one of the smartest things you can do for successful gardening is to get a
soil test, available for a small fee at the Marshall County Extension Office. Ray says
lots of other free information is available from the extension office.
Listen to a portion of the Coffee Call interview by following the link at the bottom of the
homepage of www.marshallcountydaily.com. And listen to Coffee Call live each
weekday morning at 8:30 on AM 1290 WCBL and 99.1 FM WCBL.
Barbara Ray of Benton donated over 70 pounds of fresh picked tomatoes to Marcella’s Kitchen.
