Marshall County’s track and field teams competed in 13 individual and six relay events at Saturday’s KHSAA Class 3A Track & Field State Championship held at the University of Kentucky.
Five top 10 performances were achieved by the girls’ team starting with a sixth place finish for the 4 x 100 relay team. Relay team members were Allie Burkeen, Rylee Thompson, Izzy Washburn and Presley Galloway.
Individual top tens came from Rylee Thompson who placed eighth in the long jump (16-05.25) and Georgia Hall with an eighth place finish in discus (111-01). Two ninth place finishes were turned in by Izzy Washburn in pole vault (9-00) and Bailey Allred in discus (106-09).
Rylee Thompson placed 11th in long jump (34-02), Addison Lyles finished 13th in the 3200 meters (11:51.35) and Bailey Allred placed 17 in shot (32-00.50).
The 4 x 200 relay took 13th (1:48.10) with team members Allie Burkeen, Mia McGregor, Izzy Washburn and Presley Gallimore. The 4 x 800 relay placed 16th (10:21.43) with members Jessica Reed, Bralynn Spalding, Eden Sandlin and Addison Lyles. Linsey Lucas, Mia McGregor, Jessica Reed and Presley Gallimore made up the 4 x 400 relay that finished 22nd (4:22.27).
The boys team wrapped up their day at the state meet with two top tens. The 4 x 400 relay team placed fifth (3:26.12) with Tyler Orlandi, Ethan McCarty, Zander Maxlow and Preston Lamb.
Deegan Croley earned a 10th place finish in shot (45-03.50) and also placed 12th in discus (136-10).
Alexander Holman placed 19th in triple jump (40-03.25) and 22nd in long jump (18-06.25). Aiden Dunigan earned a 19th place in long jump (19-06.50) and Ethan McCarty placed 20th in the 800 meters (2:07.94).
The 4 x 100 relay team placed 13th (43.79) with Cade Sorrells, Zander Maxlow, Isaac Hodges and Tyler Orlandi.
